OVERVIEW OF CENTER

The Flint Hills Job Corps Center is a federally funded vocational training program open to young adults ages 16 through 24 who want job skills for employment. Training is set up for students to progress at their own pace. In addition to the vocational training, the campus offers basic education classes, GED classes, a High School diploma program, advanced training and college programs.

Accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
Member of Kansas State High School Athletics Association
 250 students - 240 residential and 10 non-residential
Single Parent Program with Child Development Center
Year round school with open enrollment 52 weeks per year

We retain 95-percent of all enrollees 60 days or longer. We transfer 20 or more students each year to advanced training programs. Finally, the ultimate goal is 100-percent placement into employment for all successful graduates.

Career development and services begin with the admission process. The Outreach Admission/Career Transition Services offices are located in the Workforce and One Stop Centers throughout Kansas. Admissions Counselors will meet with eligible applicants to assess career needs and goals for possible enrollment into Job Corps. Information gathered while visiting our outreach/admission counselors is critical in beginning each student's Personal Career Development Plan.

Tours of the campus are offered for any interested persons, clubs, or agencies. Tours are conducted by staff and student employees. Any questions about the campus policies and programs will be answered at this time. Call (785) 537-7222 or 1-800-733-5627 to arrange a tour date and time.
