  • Controlará el historial médico y los signos vitales de los pacientes, como presión arterial y pulso, antes de procedimientos. 

  • Procesará radiografías y tareas de laboratorio. 

  • Ayudará a los dentistas a preparar el área de trabajo para el tratamiento, con la esterilización de instrumentos, a secar la boca de los pacientes y pasarle instrumentos al dentista durante procedimientos. 

  • Hará tareas administrativas como facturar, programar citas y llevar registros.

La mayoría de los graduados de asistente dental trabajan directamente con dentistas en sus consultorios odontológicos. Los asistentes dentales en general trabajan a tiempo completo y ayudan con el cuidado de pacientes y la administración del consultorio odontológico. Algunos graduados pueden ir a trabajar también en laboratorios dentales. 

 

Las credenciales que obtendrá ...   

En el programa de capacitación de Asistente Dental, obtendrá credenciales reconocidas a nivel nacional y una credencial o licencia emitida por el estado. 

  • Credenciales de la Junta Nacional de Asistencia Dental (Dental Assisting National Board, DANB). 

  • Certificaciones de juntas odontológicas del estado. 

  • Certificación de resucitación cardiopulmonar (RCP). 

  • Después de completar 3,500 horas de experiencia de asistencia dental, puede obtener su certificación de asistente dental general (General Chairside, GC). 

Los estudiantes también deben obtener un permiso de aprendizaje y una licencia de conducir emitidos por el estado al finalizar el programa.
